Obituary of Ruby J. Ritchie

Ruby J. Ritchie, 82, of Dundee, FL, died September 24, 2021, at Winter Haven Hospital.  She was born in Campbellton, FL, on November 5, 1938.  Ruby graduated from Cottondale High School in 1956.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Ritchie, her mother and father, Mattie and Espy White, and her sisters, Mary Francis Sellers and Nell Rea Tillery.

She is survived by her sons, Donald (Lisa) Phillips of Headland, AL, Troy (Deborah) Phillips of Winter Haven, Brian (Jennifer) Phillips of Dundee, daughters, Michelle (Darryl) Thompson of Dundee, Christy (Christopher) Broom of Montevallo, AL, brother, Jearl (Julie) White of Polk City, and sister, Betty Jean Goodman of Winter Haven.  Ruby was loved by 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. 

Ruby was a devoted member of Ridge Community Church of God for over 40 years.  She enjoyed time with her family, church friends, and Southern Gospel concerts.  She was a caregiver to countless children over the years in her home daycare.  She will be greatly missed by everyone she touched. 

A viewing will be held at 10am on October 4, 2021, directly followed by a Celebration of Life at 11am at Ridge Community Church of God in Dundee.  She will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
