Obituary of John Lee Krueger

John Lee Krueger, age 85, died peacefully on November 3, 2023 in Winter Haven, Florida. He was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Melba Margaret Drayna (Van Susteren) and LeRoy Franklin Krueger on September 4, 1938. Better known as “Jack”, he was a passionate man in every aspect of his life. Jack was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband to his wife, Marcie, who preceded him in death one year ago, October 28, 2022.

Jack, a dedicated veteran, served in the United States Navy. He was the National President of V.M.F.P Veterans Service Organization until the day he was unable to do so this past year. Jack was also very involved in his union, The American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was a passionate politician, served on many committees, and was a National Delegate for the Democratic Party. Jack was an avid volunteer for over 50 years, giving endless hours to the Salvation Army, the Boys & Girls Club, and Meals on Wheels, just to name a few.

The love for his family was endless, attending every holiday, birthday, sporting event, and family gathering. Jack was an animal lover and considered his pets part of his family. He loved Jesus and knew that one day, he would meet him in Heaven. He attended church regularly and grew close bonds with the clergyman and parishioners.

Jack is preceded in death by his wife Dovie Marcella (Rogers), mother Melba Margaret Drayna, father LeRoy Franklin Krueger, Stepmother Catherine Krueger, brother Thomas Krueger, and stepdaughters Antwan Bower and Toni Gabbard.

He leaves behind his 8 children, Lori Bowen (Jack), David Krueger (Darla), Scott Krueger (Teri), Lisa Vandenberg (Marty), Nikki Gomes (Tad), Hayley Timpanaro (Nicholas), Dakota Krueger, and Samantha Krueger; his 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, Steven Beno (Ashley), their children Charlie, Eloise, & Lilian; Heather Korpal (Adam) and their children Violet, Landon, & Hayden; Laura Beno (Aaron) and their children Jhet, Kai, and Ash; Christopher Bowen (Clare); Morgan Bowen, Megan Sampson (Steve), Rachel Krueger (Eric), Anthony Krueger, Alex Krueger (Julia), Ella Vandenberg, Hannah Vandenberg, Greta Gomes, and Sebastian Timpanaro.
