Obituary of Jacquelyn A. Pinckney

Jacquelyn A. Pinckney passed away on December 3, 2023. Jackie was born in Union, Missouri and went to nursing school in St. Louis. She moved to Winter Haven where she raised her daughters, married Vincent Pinckney, and was the head nurse for Doctors Barranco, Briggs and Rooney. Jackie was an active member of the community; including, a member of First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven where she embraced a ministry of providing teddy bears to those in need of comfort, former President of the Winter Haven High School Band Boosters, a Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Planters Garden Club, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Jackie is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Pinckney, and her long-term companion, John H. Gray. She is survived by her daughter, Christi Nicolay (Kenny Burns); her daughter, Cheryl Nicolay Giacomuzzi (Paul); her grandsons, Mark Schoenike and Scott Schoenike; her sister, Shirley Volk; the Gray Family; and the many friends to whom she was their second mother. The family would like to thank Dr. Gasner, Dr. Bolanos, Dr. Chandrasekhar, Dr. Christiano, Home Instead and Good Shepherd Hospice for their continuous loving care. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday December 11, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice. “Great lives never go. They go on.” May her memory be a blessing.
